About
About Tagwell Auto
Tagwell Auto is a car maintenance app that turns oil changes, tires, recalls, registration and fuel into one list, with reminders by date and by miles.
Who makes it
Tagwell Auto is made by Tagwell, the maker of Tagwell Home, our app for the house. It carries no ads. The app is free for the first vehicle, and Tagwell Auto Plus pays for the rest.
Tagwell Auto and Tagwell Home
Tagwell Home keeps the house; Tagwell Auto keeps the vehicles. They are two apps from the same maker, Tagwell, with the same tag and the same idea.
- One sign-in. If you sign in to sync, the same email works in both apps.
- Separate records. Your vehicles and your house are kept apart, and neither app can read the other's.
- Separate Plus. Tagwell Home Plus doesn't cover Tagwell Auto today, and Tagwell Auto Plus doesn't cover Tagwell Home. See pricing.
- Deleting your account. If you use both with the same email, deleting your Tagwell Auto account keeps the sign-in so Tagwell Home keeps working. See delete your account.
What we promise
- No ads, and your data is never sold.
- No account needed. Your vehicles stay on your device unless you turn on sync.
- Safety is never paywalled: recalls, accident and roadside, and safety reminders are free.
- What isn't built yet is labeled Coming soon, everywhere it appears.
Where the information comes from
The maintenance intervals in the app, the checklist and the free tools are typical values from the app's own library of more than 150 jobs. They are general guidance, not a carmaker's schedule. Your owner's manual has the schedule for your exact vehicle, and it wins.
Recall and VIN information comes straight from NHTSA, the US government's vehicle safety agency. The recall check and the VIN decoder ask NHTSA from your browser. Nothing you type there is sent to us.
The guides are written by Tagwell Auto, each with the date it was last updated. They are general guidance, and no substitute for a mechanic who can see your car. If a red warning light is on or the car drives differently, stop safely and get help.
