Terms
Terms of use
Effective October 18, 2026
Tagwell Auto is operated by Proffitt Investment Holdings LLC, California, USA ("we", "us").
By using Tagwell Auto you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
Who can use it
Tagwell Auto is for adults. You must be 18 or older to sign in or to buy Tagwell Auto Plus. Children and teens can be added by a parent, on a device the parent manages.
Using Tagwell Auto
Tagwell Auto is free to use for keeping track of your own vehicles and the vehicles you look after. Don't use it to break the law or to harm anyone.
Tagwell Auto Plus
In the phone app, some extras (a second vehicle beyond your one vehicle and its trailer or camper, drivers, kids, the teen driving log and rewards, jobs and inspections, the service history PDF and spreadsheet, the barcode scanner for parts, weather alerts, the replacement budget and the business mileage log) are part of Tagwell Auto Plus, an optional auto-renewing subscription. In the United States it costs $0.99 a month or $9.99 a year. The price for your country, with any tax, is shown in the app before you buy, and that is the price you pay. A free trial is offered only if the store shows one. If it does, you are charged when the trial ends unless you cancel before then. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm. The subscription renews automatically at the same price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before it ends. You can manage or cancel it at any time in your store account. On Android: open Google Play, tap your picture, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions. On iPhone: open Settings, your name, then Subscriptions. The app's Plus screen has a Manage subscription button that opens the same page. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and Plus stays on until the paid period ends. Refunds are handled by Google Play or Apple under their own refund policies. Ask them, from your order history. We can't refund a store purchase ourselves, but write to us if something went wrong and we will help. If Plus ends, your information stays on your device and the free features keep working.
Advice is general, and not a substitute for a mechanic
Maintenance schedules, intervals, tips, steps and product suggestions in Tagwell Auto and on this website are general guidance, not professional advice. They are typical values, not your vehicle's own schedule. Your owner's manual and your vehicle's maker come first. Tagwell Auto is not a substitute for a qualified mechanic. Have a qualified mechanic do any work on brakes, steering, airbags, fuel systems and high-voltage parts of electric and hybrid vehicles. Never get under a vehicle supported only by a jack. You're responsible for how you use the information.
This website's free tools
The warning-light guide, the trouble-code lookup and the calculators on this site are general guidance. Your owner's manual wins. If a red warning light is on or the car drives differently, stop safely and get help. Price, mileage and lease figures are estimates from the numbers you type.
Recalls
Recall information comes from NHTSA, the US highway safety agency, and is looked up by make, model and year. It may be incomplete, out of date, or include recalls that don't apply to your exact vehicle or that were already repaired. It covers the United States only. To be sure, ask a dealer to check your VIN, or check it at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
After an accident
The accident and roadside steps are general guidance, not legal or medical advice. In an emergency, call your local emergency number first.
Mileage logs and taxes
The business mileage log is a record-keeping tool. It is not tax advice. You enter the rate per mile yourself. Ask a tax professional what you can claim.
Driving logs
The teen driving log is a record you keep. Whether it meets your state's or country's requirements is for you to check.
Best guesses
Where the app reads a photo or suggests what a warning light or code may mean, the result is a best guess and is labeled that way. Check it before you rely on it.
Your data
Your information stays on your device unless you sign in to sync, as described in the privacy policy. Back up anything important with a backup file (Vehicles, then Backup) or an export, because uninstalling the app or clearing your browser erases it.
Store links
Amazon links in Tagwell Auto open Amazon's own app or website, and your purchase is between you and Amazon. Prices, stock and whether a part fits your vehicle are up to you and the seller; check the part number against your manual. As an Amazon Associate, Tagwell Auto earns from qualifying purchases.
No warranty
Mileage estimates, weather alerts, part life spans and replacement costs are estimates, not guarantees. Tagwell Auto is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any damage or loss from using it, including missed reminders, gaps in recall information or lost data.
Limit of liability
Where the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim about Tagwell Auto is limited to the amount you paid us for Tagwell Auto Plus in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be limited by agreement.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in California, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it where you live.
Ending
You can stop using Tagwell Auto at any time, and delete your account as described on the delete account page. We may stop offering the app, or close an account that is used to break the law or to harm others.
Changes
We may update these terms. If we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page.
